| Experience: | Hi, I'm a Ph.D. candidate at UC Irvine studying modern Japanese literature and film. I've been studying Japanese for over 10 years now, and I have both taught and tutored students in the Japanese language. Being a non-native speaker and having to learn Japanese as a foreign language has given me a greater understanding of the difficulties many non-native speakers face when learning Japanese. I have also taught and tutored students in ESL in Japan and in the US in classroom settings, conversation classes, and one-on-one tutoring. I received my BA in English and East Asian Studies, and I have edited many college essays over the years, so I am also able to tutor in writing. |
