Education

I graduated in 2009 from University of California, Berkeley with a GPA of 3.96. I have two B.A degrees in Applied Math and Statistics.

Experience

I started my tutoring as a hobby to help others and meanwhile to help myself review what I have learned in my freshman year in college. Since then, I have been tutoring throughout my college life for a variety of college math and statistics classes. I started tutoring middle school and high school students since after I graduated from college in 2010. I have tutored more than 100 students in the past several years for both school courses and test preparation, and most of my clients had made great academic progress under my tutoring and most of them are very satisfied with my service. I am currently living in Irvine with my wife while doing tutoring on a part-time basis. I am an actuary and a member of Casualty Actuarial Society and I currently work in Irvine for a global insurance company.

Hobbies

I really enjoy teaching math. It gives me a sense of satisfaction when I was able to beat the school teachers to help my students understand things and improve their problem solving skills. Aside from that, I like reading. I also play table tennis for at least twice a week. Ping pong is great sports. It improves hand-eye coordination and it stimulates mental alertness, concentration, and tactical strategies, so I truly recommend you and your kids to give it a try. I am a native Chinese speaker and I was at the top of my class for Chinese when I was in high school in China, which was almost 15 years ago though. :) But if you want to learn Chinese, you won't go wrong with me.
