My philosophy in teaching is to help students help themselves. This does not only include acquiring the knowledge pertinent to their topic of interest, but also includes developing a more positive self-efficacy and learning to be motivated in ones education. English: I have been editing peer papers for 7 years now. I love writing and think it is an essential life skill to develop. Hence, I would like to help others develop not only writing skills, but also a growth mentality in which they can continuously motivate themselves to succeed in their endeavors. My goal is to not only edit my students papers, but to teach my students to learn the analytical, structural, and grammatical skills necessary to improve their overall writing. However, I am open to teaching anything English based. I have experience teaching ESL students, as well. Music: I have been taking voice lessons for 10+ years and aimed to become an opera singer. I chose to get my PhD in psychology and so this dream of mine is on hold but I would love to help my students learn correct singing techniques and refine their voices just as I have. Psychology: I will be attaining a PhD in psychology in order to teach at a University level and am more than happy to tutor in this field. Math/Science: I have tutored students K-12 with homework that involves math and science. Consequentially, I am well versed in this area.
