Experience
-Taught English as an Elementary school teacher in South Korea. -Won the excellence award for top TaLK Scholar in the Teach and Learn in Korea program. -Tutored English to Korean university students to Korean lawyers. -Tutored Korean to beginning and lower-level intermediate international students in Korea. -Studied abroad in Korea for a year. -Gave a presentation on Korean culture and living in Korea to around 700 new study abroad students at Yonsei University. I have a strong understanding of how the tongue moves in both English and Korean, so I can help fix your pronunciation in both languages. While I can teach grammar and writing without any problems, I like to focus on fluency in speaking (and writing), that you wouldn't find in the classroom, but would greatly boost your fluency, ability to communicate, and ability to fit in with natives in either language. For Korean, while I can teach the basics, I would recommend taking a Korean class for grammar and writing, and then taking lessons from me to be able to apply what you learn in class to real life interactions and learning how to pronounce words correctly with natural word choices, not being limited to the robotic textbook dialogue. Instead of asking for an hourly rate, I will ask you to pay me what you feel my lessons are worth. Because I could not complete this profile without adding an amount, I put one dollar, but if after your first lesson you feel I am only worth one dollar, then I think we would both be wasting our time and I would want to cry.
