Experience

My name is Adam and I am a recent graduate from a master's program in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at UC Irvine, and have previously attained two bachelor of science degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering at UC Irvine. I now work as a professional mechanical engineer for an engineering firm in orange county. I love tutoring and helping others to achieve their goals. In learning physics and mathematics, I truly understand the challenges faced because I have experience and overcame them first hand. I use my own experience to relate to my students to connect theory with real world applications in order to make the material more easily digestible. Physics and math can be very hard and intimidating topics, so I teach strategies that break down large problems into smaller "bite size" problems that are easier to understand and manage. In regards to qualifications, I took AP physics in high school, and since then have taken a number of physics, math, and engineering courses in my college career. I currently coach our school's Ultimate Frisbee team; through this I've learned to teach not only individuals, but groups of people simultaneously. I tutor the same way that I coach, re-read and refresh the material I will be covering in the session, and assemble a schedule of activities that focus on an individual topic. I find it very helpful to identify the strengths and weaknesses of my students, in order to focus and tailor my sessions so the student can benefit most efficiently.
