Queen Mary University of London - Baccalaureate of Arts, History, Foreign Languages

I am an experienced tutor living in California. I am a teacher of my native language, Chinese, and also Russian. I have been in the United States from the time I was fourteen. I have experience teaching students Chinese and Russian from elementary to advanced levels. I begin teaching early Chinese students pronunciation first, and then move through vocabulary. For advanced Chinese students, I focus on grammar, vocabulary, and eventually begin to focus on the art of Chinese calligraphy. For my Russian students, I begin with the alphabet and then move to pronunciation and vocabulary. I like to bring in video clips and movies for students to watch in the native language, as I believe this helps immerse the students in the culture and aids in learning.I am a great lover of music, and I enjoy singing both Russian and Chinese songs, playing harmonica, and cooking Chinese food.
