Experience
Salve! I was born and raised in Torino, Italy and I have been teaching Italian for the past 12 years. I moved to California in 1997 and I have been living here in Orange County with my family ever since. I have been teaching Italian both to children (from "mommy & me" classes to middle school students) and to adults; I taught from the beginner level to the advanced one; I taught to single students, to small groups and to large classes. Because of my very diverse teaching experience I learned the importance and the necessity of customizing all my lessons. After all, It is a fact that everybody learns in a slightly different way; the motivation to learn, a determining element to acquire any subject, also changes from student to student; finally, the objectives of learning a foreign language vary a lot as well. As a teacher I am willing to try anything that could work and my style during the lesson is quite relaxed and informal, because I want my students to have fun with the Italian language. If it fits the student's objective I like to use authentic current material like extracts from magazine, songs, videos, commercials, etc. The opportunity to review this type of material with a native speaker is very useful to any student that wish to understand better not just the Italian language, but also the culture, both past and present, that it represents.
