I attended the University of California - Irvine, where I graduated cum laude with a degree in public health sciences. During my time as a student, I remained very active on the college campus. Not only did I play intramural sports and participate in student clubs, including president of a fraternity, I also spent time helping my peers gain better classroom understanding. Currently, I am in the process of applying to medical schools, as well as tutoring anyone who's interested. I love working as an educator and having the opportunity to help students of all ages improve their life skills, learn better study habits, and prepare for upcoming tests and exams. In addition, I believe in the power of student-centered teaching. For this reason, I maintain an active classroom that's filled with games and hands-on activities, so that students aren't only memorizing important material, they're learning how to practically apply the concepts they're studying. When I work with students, I like to create a professional relationship that's built on openness and honesty. I find that maintaining an open channel of communication makes it easier for students to open up about their strengths and weaknesses. When I'm not tutoring or preparing for med school, I like playing soccer and spending time with my friends.
