I am a tutor in Irvine, California. My academic background begins with Northwood High School in Irvine, a school that is known for academic intensity. After high school, I attended San Diego State University, where I earned an undergraduate degree in integrated marketing and communications. I also have an M.B.A. from Concordia University. I then went on to pursue an MPA from USC because, while I am good at business and find it intuitive, I could not reconcile a bottom dollar approach with the effects on human lives.My professional experience includes five years at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where I handled recalls in the Investigations branch. The work that I did at the FDA managing audits and an infant formula recall earned an award from the FDA Commissioner. After leaving my position at the FDA to focus on business, I worked at a pharmacy management company as Assistant to the Vice President of Operations.My experience has not been typical, so you are welcome to ask me questions. I have no problem sharing about my journey, particularly with teens who are faced with making decisions that have lifelong implications. I have also studied out of state, worked multiple jobs at one time, and interned abroad.I have been involved in a number of extracurricular activities, including cheerleading, softball, choir, and musical theater. Aside from cheer, my first true extracurricular love was speech and debate. I participated in speech and debate in both high school and college. As a business student, I also worked with student business groups that were focused on making a difference in the community, including Students in Free Enterprise (now known as Enactus). I have also been involved with the Future Business Leaders of America.In addition to business, I also enjoy reading, volunteering, history, movies, most types of music, water activities, and traveling.
