Private tutor in Irvine, CA

Education

I have lived in southern California all of my life. I went to school at Northwood High School in Irvine, and am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Physics at University of California, Irvine. I plan to go to graduate school and get a PhD in Applied Physics.

Experience

I was employed by the Irvine Public Schools Foundation for more than 3 years as a peer tutor. I've worked as Private tutor all throughout high school and have received two awards by my school recognizing excellence as peer tutor. I took the SAT Physics, AP physics, and ACT and received a 790, 5, and 34, respectively. Through my years of tutoring, I've developed a deep appreciation for teaching others. Pursuing a degree in Physics requires an intense amount of complex math. Tutoring forces me to always have a thorough understanding of fundamental mathematics in order for me to teach and learn. I specialize in students from Irvine schools because being a former student in the Irvine school district, I understand what is necessary to succeed and can give advice from a students perspective. I believe this is what sets me apart, my ability to give perspective, rather than simply lecturing about a concept. IUSD High Schools have a reputation for offering an excellent education, and are consistently ranked as some of the best public schools in the state, and the nation. Because of this, the pace of the classes and work load are often more challenging and stressful than other schools. As a result, many students end up feeling lost or behind, especially if they have moved from a different school. Let me help you succeed in this challenging yet rewarding high school experience.
