Education
I am a current English undergraduate student at the University of California, Irvine. I am on track to graduate in December 2015 and will be receiving a B.A. degree. As an English student at UCI, I have covered various subtopics, including poetry, drama, fiction, literary theory, religion, and history; and am familiar with the different literary periods usually covered in English courses, such as modernism, romanticism, post-colonialism, etc. (As I am a student, I prefer to meet up around the general UCI / UTC area.)
Experience
I am able to tutor in all levels of English (elementary to high school), and lower division English / writing classes for college (for UCI students, HumCore and Writing 39 series). I am also helpful with essay help / proofreading, and help with applications (for grad school, jobs, etc.). I don't have any previous tutoring experience but I assist my friends with their English and writing homework, and they get A's. I want to be a tutor because I love writing and English language arts, but understand that not everyone necessarily likes it or is good at it. I want to be able to help people achieve proficiency in writing because I believe it is an essential skill, especially in communication. Also, please note that although I have facial piercings, I am still very polite, respectful, and professional.
