ExperienceAlthough I have over thirty years of experience in the banking industry, I am now interested in being a tutor. I have a passion for working with students who have trouble learning. My daughter has been the inspiration behind this career change. She was homeschooled for a few years because she had difficulties learning. Now she is doing well and I want to share what I have learned helping her with other students. I have been able to take these experiences and help others and want to continue to do so. I would love to work with people who have diagnosed problems, such as dyslexia.
I strongly believe that to be an effective tutor, you must also mentor your students. People don't just want a teacher; they want their tutor to take the time to get to know them and their struggles. I strive to do this and to give them a safe environment to share their creativity. Basic skills are not the only things that need to be honed in on. Students should also be taught to use their creativity and to be confident. I am a very patient person who looks forward to meeting new people.
