Education

I graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts in the top fifteen percent of my class. Holy Cross is a small liberal arts college founded by the Jesuits and that focuses on understanding the importance of all subject matter and applying it to life. I graduated last May in Biology with a focus in the Health Professions and I am currently applying to medical school. I graduated with a 3.61 overall GPA and 3.65 in my major while also receiving a scholarship twice during my undergraduate career for excellence in leadership and academics.

Experience

I have tutored in high school biology as well as college level biology throughout my undergraduate career. I have also tutored algebra to incoming freshman through a summer program and I have guided students in a laboratory to connect college lessons with hands-on scientific procedures. My focus for tutoring is high school biology which is usually taken in the 9th or 10th grade. I have a general knowledge in biology but most my classes have prepared me for molecular biology. I have been a part of a biochemistry research laboratory and I have worked in an industry microbiology laboratory post-graduation. I not only have experience in college but outside as well which can teach you a lot that classes cannot prepare you for. I want to not only be a resource for students in biology but I also want to help students understand themselves and their goals for education. I aim to promote a tutoring experience where students' passions can be realized and acted upon.

Hobbies

I am currently working at Starbucks while I apply and interview for medical school. I love playing and watching soccer as well as trying new foods. I am a first generation college graduate and I hope to pass on the support I received throughout my education. I am also interested in Japanese manga and anime and the insight they provide on Japanese culture. I am really easy to talk to and I hope to foster a student's interest in learning and help to make connections within their academics starting with biology and beyond.
