Private tutor in Irvine, CA
University of California, Los Angeles - BA, Psychology/Dance
I have a diverse range of experiences in coaching, teaching, and tutoring. In addition to being a professional dancer, I've had the opportunity to coach for several dance teams, which include my high school team and several groups of younger students. I have worked as a tutor for primary and secondary schools, as well as a peer tutor in college. Depending on the age of the student, I use a variety of different creative means to reach them. For younger students, I have found that a structured, yet laid back and fun atmosphere enables them to learn best. When I work with teenagers, or students closer to my own age, I use their interests to create connections to the material we are working on. I believe that my ability to build relationships with a wide range of students and to discover what their individual needs are, helps me to be a more effective tutor. I work with my students to set goals in their academic and personal lives that we can work towards. I see myself as a very outgoing, yet patient tutor. When I am not working or studying, I love dancing, singing, and writing. I also enjoy photography.
